Explore the process of writing a novel with Heather Rose live on Zoom

This interactive intensive live with Heather is for no more than 12 students. The lectures are conducted in real with time for questions and interactions. Each session provides theory and practical exercises that cover both the craft and the psychology of writing a novel.

      • How do you develop good characters?
      • How do you create convincing settings?
      •  How do you create a good plot?
      • How do you write a first draft?

But equally…

      • How do you overcome your fear?
      • How do you master commitment?
      • How do you harness your imagination?
      • How do you learn the endurance necessary to find your way to a completed manuscript?

Learn from one of Australia’s most highly awarded and versatile writers. Heather has been teaching writing for many years, and has now developed this course to help you write your first novel.

Ideal for writers with a professional background who want to take the leap into long-form fiction. Also great for passionate inexperienced writers unsure how to embark on the novel they have burning inside them. Or for writers wanting to move from screenwriting to literature.

You may have a draft half completed, a few chapters sitting in a drawer, or an idea floating about that won’t let you go. You may be writing genre or literary fiction, for children, young adults or adults. This course is designed to give you a toolkit to get you underway and to keep you heading in the right direction.
